Eating healthy

Self-help guide

There is a link between what we eat and how we feel. Manage your eating habits. A balanced and healthy diet can improve your mood and focus, and decrease the risk of anxiety and depression. Skipping lunch at work, eating in a hurry, food that is high in sugar and drinks that are high in caffeine can lead to stress. NHS tips for healthy eating (www.nhs.uk): – Base your meals on higher fibre starchy carbohydrates – Eat more fish, including a portion of oily fish – Cut down on saturated fat and sugar – Eat less salt: no more than 6 g a day for adults – Get active and maintain a healthy weight – Consume enough water – Do not skip breakfast
